   “Gift cards can only be redeemed in the country of purchase,” huh? How very generous! Who needs global accessibility when you can just limit your customer’s joy based on geography? It’s reminiscent of those exclusivity strategies corporations love so much—let’s sell you something valuable but restrict its use so you feel even more compelled to buy something else! Bravo! Maybe next time they’ll offer ‘gift’ cards that aren’t actually gifts at all?
